I studied BA Joint Honours Spanish and Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Nottingham from September 2012 to July 2016. Within those four years, let’s say a lot happened. University has definitely been the most challenging but fantastically rewarding period of my life so far!
For the first two years of my degree, I lived in Nottingham, first in University accommodation then in a rented house with six friends. For my year abroad from Autumn 2014 to Summer 2015, I moved to Spain for six months and China for the rest of that time.
In Spain, I worked at Happy FM Radio Station writing gossip articles about celebrities and major events to upload to their website. In China, I studied at Ningbo Nottingham University and improved my mandarin skills greatly alongside a little bit of continuous Spanish practice. It was almost impossible to anticipate what it will really be like, the culture, the food, learning the language and the immersion. So, I hope you enjoy reading about the many, many adventures and see what it’d be like for you to head to China or Spain yourself!
