twenty one: we go big or we go back home

This morning gives us blue skies, cold crisp air and sunshine in London. It’s a good sign that it could be a good day ahead. Monday is always a day of action – either it kicks off from the minute you wake up or it hits you ten minutes before you plan to go home and you find yourself scrambling to the finish line. d4d7cf73-37d4-4ba7-871c-c8e24248ba68

On my twenty first birthday I woke up in an ancient Chinese town with friends from my year abroad. Today, my brother officially enters adulthood too. Apart from now being able to legally drink and gamble in the US, I suppose the number twenty one does not hold as much meaning to us Brits. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

Nevertheless, happy birthday buddy! The world, and our family, have come a long way since 1998 (which was the year Google was invented, believe it or not!).

I don’t have much wisdom to impart as I am winging at life as much as the next person… but remember to not take life too seriously and enjoy it. We all have moments, periods of time and decisions which can be overwhelming, confusing and just downright annoying. If you thinking that at twenty one you should have some kind of  life plan or idea of what is coming next… be it tomorrow or in six months time… think again! Do what makes you happy and brings you joy and make sure you carry on pursuing these things no matter where you go or decisions you make. πŸ™‚

I hope Mum’s game of pass the parcel was good fun – we’re never too old to be kids again! “Well, it’s your birthday, Let’s act like it is, And just go crazy, Do what we want with no reason why, Life ain’t long enough, So let’s celebrate” πŸ˜€

Love, me
